The riders will be practicing in the vehicle they’ll be riding for the next race at Vic Pk the following week.

Victoria Park training session

Hi

Our next training session at Victoria Park is scheduled for next Sunday 1st July from 1pm – 3pm.

We will divide the session into 2 x 1 hour blocks so please let me know by email if you would prefer the first or second hour.

pbroadley@aapt.net.au

As always, first in, best dressed.

The riders will be practicing in the opposite vehicle to the one they raced in a week ago in preparation for the next race at Vic Pk in late July.

At this stage, the weather is looking ok but if that changes, we’ll shift the session to the school gym and practice our rider changes so please watch the blog and Facebook towards the end of the week.

Thanks

Paul

Victoria Park race – marshalling

Hello

Every team is expected to provide a marshal for a 2hr period in each race. If we don’t provide marshals, we don’t race. Because we have 2 teams entered in this next race at Victoria Park, we need to provide 2 marshals.

Our time slot for both marshals is 12 – 2pm and they’ll be positioned together at marshal point 14, which happens to be ‘crash corner’ for this circuit. As such, these people will be busy and need to be comfortable with going on to the track during the race to turn crashed vehicles back on to their wheels and/or in the right direction. This may sound a bit scary but if the marshals and racers all stay alert and follow the rules it’s safe and rare for anyone to get hurt.

Like we did in Loxton, I’d like to divide up this timeslot so that no-one is marshalling for more than 30mins (unless you want to). Because our timeslot is split across our 2 shifts of riders, this means I need 4 people from our first shift and 4 from the second.

As such, please let me know by Fri if you are able to marshal so that I can ensure we have the numbers. All marshals must be trained so if you have not completed the training within the last 3 years:

1.       Go to the Pedal Prix website

2.       Click on the Marshals link

3.       Complete the training and indemnity form

4.       Email them to the address provided.

Note that you won’t receive any confirmation that you passed so once you’ve sent the email you can assume you’re trained.

Thanks

Paul

Victoria Park race information

Hi

Please find attached some general information for the race this weekend. The forecast is looking ok at the moment but the race will carry on regardless of the weather.

Also attached is the detailed ride roster for the weekend. Note that this is always subject to change depending on what happens on the day.

We are also required to provide 2 marshals between 12.00pm and 2.00pm. I’ll be sending a separate communication about that shortly so please watch out for it.

Victoria Park race times

Hello all

Thanks for your quick responses.

I’ve allocated the timeslots as follows based on first in first served, apologies if you didn’t get what you were after but the maths just didn’t add up for everyone.

This will also be the ride order on the day with each rider in the vehicle twice for about 20mins each.

The expectation is that the riders in the first group will be at Victoria Park at approximately 8am to help set up the pit area whilst the riders in the second group will help pack up after the race.

As with the Loxton race, we will also likely be allocated a 2hr marshalling timeslot but we won’t know when that is until early next week. Once I know, we will need to ensure we have enough trained marshals available at that time to spread it around.

I’ll send more information on our pit location etc. next week once the organisers have published it.

Facebook group

Hi Everyone

I have set up a Facebook group (Flagstaff Hill R-7 Pedal Prix) as another way of getting information out to you quickly. If you are on Facebook and have not joined the group yet could you please add yourself.

Also, just a reminder that training will be in the gym again tomorrow. I am trying to do one day in the gym and one day on bikes. Unfortunately, I cant tell you which day will be which as an ongoing schedule due to the changing nature of the weather. However, I will be trying to keep it as Tuesdays on their bike and Thursdays in the gym.
